Green Smoothies are so good to have because you get to take the “green” part of it in a bearable way. And we know that green comes with so much detoxing benefits! That’s not the only health benefit, but when you detox your body , you give it a chance to take a break from all the breaking down of the different things we take in. We can’t always be clogging up the systems with food, and the best way to do so would actually be to take the green vegetables as they are but let’s be real that is too nasty for so many of us. So adding in some of your favorite sweet fruits makes it better. The pineapples add so much sweetness to this smoothie you don’t taste any arugula in there.I actually cannot take pineapple as they are, they tend to swell my tongue, so I add them to smoothies and cook them in food (pineapple is a perfect meat tenderizer)
While we are talking about this, can i say there is a difference between a detox/health smoothie and a “treaty” smoothie, because when you are making a dessert/treat smoothie you can dd all those crazy extras, you know the nuts, yogurt and milk for example my Hot Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie, but when you are making a health/detox smoothie you have to keep it very simple and light, fruits and veggies and that’s it. You can add some superfoods but you don’t want anything that will add to clogging up the pipe, we are trying to clear it remember? What do you think? are all smoothies healthy just because it’s a smoothie?
Add this smoothie to your weekly meal plans and reap the health benefits.
What you need:
- 1 cup chopped pineapples
- 1 cup arugula leaves washed

- 1 mandarin/orange

Happy Smoothie making!
