CARROT ORANGE JUICE

I had a carrot juice recently that blew me away and when I asked what was in it; three ingredients ONLY! Carrot, orange and ginger. As simple as it sounds it’s hard to hit the right proportions of everything to get it just right. Well experiments with my juicer  and I found the perfect proportion.  If you are someone who doesn’t like carrot juice or the taste of carrots I urge you to give this a try as you will not be able to taste the carrot flavor. It all combines to this tasty and unique flavor. Let’s not forget how healthy all the three ingredients put together are;

Carrots : Loaded with vitamins A in the form of beta carotene which is good for your eye sight. It has potassium which is good for the brain, blood pressure and bones. Carrots alot contain minerals like copper, calcium, potassium, manganese and phosphorus.Basically alot of nutrients that are good for you! So it’s good to include raw carrots into your diet.

Orange : Where to begin with this one? We all know Vitamin C right? They are also the perfect way to take care of a sugar craving without spiking you blood sugar levels as they contain sugar but also alot of fibre. They are also  rich in other minerals essential to the body e.g vitamin B1.vitamin B9, and potassium and that’s just a few.

Ginger: Named one of the world’s healthiest foods! Ginger is actually medicinal. It has a substance called  gingerol, which is a powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. Ginger is good for digestion, it can ease nausea and it can help fight infection. So take more ginger!

MAKE THE JUICE; (To make one Jar -600ml )

  • 8-10 whole Carrots peeled
  • 4 Oranges
  • 2 1/2 Tablespoons ginger

You can make this two ways;

  1. Is if you have a juicer, this is pretty easy. Add all the ingredients to the juicer and voila! be sure to start with the ginger so the other ingredients wash out any ginger stuck in the blender.
  2. If you are using a blender. First squeeze the orange juice and pour into a glass/jar. Then blend the carrots and ginger in a little bit of water. Then sieve this and mix with the orange juice.

Either way you get your tasty juice! Enjoy!

Notes:

I peel the carrots if they are not organic.
