Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups pecan halves
  • 1 unbaked pie crust (9-inch)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine sugar, corn syrup, melted butter, beaten eggs, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
  • Arrange pecan halves evenly in the bottom of the unbaked pie crust.
  • Pour the sugar mixture over the pecans, ensuring an even distribution.
  • Place the pie in the preheated oven and bake for 60 to 70 minutes or until the center is set. You may need to cover the edges of the pie crust with foil halfway through baking to prevent excessive browning.
  • Allow the pecan pie to cool completely before serving.

Notes

For added flavor, consider incorporating a splash of bourbon or a pinch of cinnamon into the filling. Serve with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a delightful treat.
