Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13-inch baking pan.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
In a saucepan, combine the melted butter, water, and cocoa powder. Bring to a boil, then pour it over the dry ingredients.
Mix until smooth.Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the sour cream and vanilla extract.
Fold in the crushed Oreo cookies until evenly distributed in the batter.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
While the cake is baking, prepare the frosting. In a bowl, beat together the softened butter, powdered sugar, cocoa powder, milk, and vanilla extract until creamy. Fold in the crushed Oreo cookies.
Once the cake is cooled, spread the frosting evenly over the top.
Optionally, garnish with additional crushed Oreo cookies.
Cut into squares and serve.
Notes
For an extra Oreo flavor, consider adding a layer of whole Oreo cookies in the middle of the batter before baking.
